What a summer it’s been! We’ve laughed, cried and watched in awe (and great admiration) as our girl and all-round Bella Babe, Maura, Higgins made it to the grand finale of this year’s Love Island. Sadly, she didn’t walk away as overall winner, but there’s no doubt about it – in our eyes she is definitely Queen of the villa!
If Love Island ending has left you with a big gaping hole in life, don’t panic. Here, we round up Maura’s best bits…
Quite frankly, Maura’s entrance into the Love Island villa was the best we’ve ever seen (and we’re not just talking about that killer glow). She definitely turned up the heat as she made a beeline for Tommy. A bold move, maybe, but in doing so, Molly-Mae was given the kick she needed to go after her man. And all’s well that ends well.
Day after day, we lusted longingly after Maura’s array of stylish outfits. From dare-to-bare-all bikinis, to cut-out body con dresses and on-trend two pieces, there’s no denying that this beauty knows how to dress to show off her gorgeous golden glow.
Maura’s catchphrase definitely worked for every scenario. From battling with Molly-Mae over love rival Tommy, to calling out Tom Walker for labelling her ‘cringe’ behind her back, there’s no occasion when “Are you jokin’” didn’t work.
Life is definitely better with friends by your side, so it isn’t surprising that Maura and Lucy teamed up to say sayonara to Casa Amor boys George and Marvin. It definitely wasn’t meant to be!
When she let Tom know what’s what
Speaking of dumping, one of those moments that we know will go down in Love Island history, was Maura’s response to over hearing Tom say: “Let’s see if she’s all mouth.” Following the blow-up, she took to the Beach Hut, saying: “Like, even if we went in the Hideaway, I wasn’t going to jump on the man… it’s more about the craic, I’m not some sort of sex addict.” Go Maura
- When she confused “chinwag” for a dance
Up there with our all-time favorite moments was when Maura thought a “chinwag” was a dance! Thankfully, Curtis set her straight so there won’t be anymore confusion with that one.
While it never made it onto the main show, Maura’s epic fall made an appearance during “Unseen Bits”. We held our breaths as she took a tumble while trying to walk sexily beside Curtis on her way to her date with Chris. Luckily Curtis - who had been summoned by Francesca to join her – scooped her up and literally swept her off her feet.
- Her response to Molly-Mae’s fall
Molly-Mae was another unfortunate lady who lost her footing on the stairs. Maura’s response? “I can’t believe she wasted the wine!” – We feel you girl.
- When Curtis swept her off her feet
When Maura made her moves on Curtis, we knew it was meant to be. As soon as she entered the villa, Curtis admitted that he tried to slide into her DMs, so we always had an inkling that there could be something between this duo. Curtis literally swept Maura off her feet on their way to their first date and luckily she was wearing pants that day!
Well done Maura. Thanks for coming onto our screens and making us smile all summer, in true Bella Babe style. We salute you.
